Juan Manuel Santos, notorious Defense Minister in the regime of outgoing President Alvaro Uribe and closely identified with high crimes against humanity “won” the recent Presidential elections in Colombia, June 2010. The major electronic and print media CNN, FOX News, Washington Post, the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the once liberal Financial Times (FT) hailed Santos election, as a great victory for democracy. According to the FT, “Colombia not Venezuela is (the) best model for Latin America” (FT 6/23/2010 p. 8). Citing Santos “overwhelming” margin – he garnered 69% of the vote, the FT claimed he won a “strong mandate” (FT 6/22/2010). In what has to be one of the most flagrant cover-ups in recent history, the media accounts exclude the most egregious facts about the elections and the profoundly authoritarian policies pursued by Santos over the past decade.

Israel forhindrer, at cement, stål og andre byggematerialer kommer frem. Med det nuværende tempo skønnes det, at genopbygningen af Gaza kommer til at vare 500 år.

FN-forbundet tager på det kraftigste afstand fra Israels angreb på nødhjælpsskibet forrige mandag. Israel har ingen ret til at blokere eller besætte palæstinensisk område, herunder farvandet ud for Gaza.

In its annual report, the rights group accuses Israel of continually violating human rights in Gaza with its ongoing economic siege.

Amnesty International complained in its annual report released Thursday that the U.S. and members of the European Union had obstructed international justice by using their positions on the UN Security Council to shield Israel from accountability for war crimes allegedly committed during last year’s Gaza war.

Uanset om domstole eller morderiske sørøverstater forsøger at hindre
solidaritets- og hjælpearbejde, vil vi og andre aktivister spredt over hele
verden fortsat sætte handling bag ord.

Foreningen Oprør er klar til at finde nye metoder, der afslører og bekæmper
terrorlovningen. Den anvendes nemlig ikke til at bekæmpe terrorisme. I stedet
er terrorlovgivningen blevet et redskab, der skal lukke munden på politiske
modstandere og stoppe solidaritetsarbejde.

Højesteretsdommen mod Fighters & Lovers t-shirt salg slog fast, at
terrorlovgivning i fremtiden kan bruges til hvad som helst.

Terrorlovene bruges mod fagligt aktive. Og med terrorlovgivningen underkendes
modstandsfolks og koncentrationslejrfangers indsats og ofre, hvis de som
konsekvens af den verserende sag fratages retten til fortsat at kæmpe mod
undertrykkelse.

Vi har tillige set terrorlovgivning anvendt i udleveringssager til lande uden
retssikkerhedsgarantier og til overvågning og fængslinger af antifascister.

Oprørs talsmand blev i år dømt efter terrorlovgivningen på grund af
foreningens appel om international støtte til befrielsesbevægelser.
Foreningen Oprør inviterer derfor alle til at deltage i arbejdet.
